This issue occurs because the Name field is trying to verify that only a single
variable is selected but is only looking at the Variables pane to see how many
variables are selected. It also needs to look at the grid selection if that's
what has the focus. If you select a variable in the Variables pane, you can
edit the Name field. This will be fixed in next update.
