Just to close the loop, -rd_obs- creates new observations in the auto
dataset because there are only 74 obs to start with, and there is a
bug in how the sample tempvar is set up so that there are some missing
values; this should almost never come up because one would never run
RD on a sample with fewer than 100 obs in "real life" but I have
submitted a fixed version to SSC which will appear when Kit Baum has a
