Phil, Indeed, extremely useful! Thanks! Cheers! Tiago ------------------------------------- Thanks to Kit Baum, a new module is available in the SSC archives. 'combine' is meant to be used by analysts performing meta-analysis whereupon it is sometimes necessary to combine size (n) , mean, and SD from two groups (for example, two intervention groups). The Cochrane Collaboration provides a formula for this calculation in its handbook, but it is cumbersome to perform using a calculator, or by hand. combine allows this calculation to be done quickly. To install, type: ssc install combine Please send feedback by email or on Statalist. Have a great weekend, Phil ____________________________________________________________________ Philip M G Jones, MD PGDip (Clinical Trials) FRCPC Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine University of Western Ontario London Health Sciences Centre * * For searches and help try: * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search * http://www.stata.com/support/statalist/faq * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/
