Subject | st: STATA MODULE UPDATE: HOI - Human Opportunity Index |
Date | Wed, 9 Feb 2011 21:37:26 -0500 |
Thanks to Kit Baum version 1.5 of the Stata module to compute the HOI is now available for download from SSC. To update or install the HOI module in your machine, simply type in the Stata command line: ssc install hoi, replace The main new features of this module are: (1) adds the option for users to compute the geometric mean of the dissimilarity index (D). One of the main advantages of this new measure is that it is sub-group consistent. (2) when computing the traditional HOI, users can now chose the level of the confidence interval. Default value set at 95%. Warning So far the trade off of using the geometric mean of the dissimilarity index is that there no analytical solution for the standard error. Users could boostrap the confidence interval, however this is not a feasible option if one is working with a complex survey design. Since Stata bootstrap function does not handle weights and multistage-survey-desings. Thanks for citing hoi as follows J.P. Azevedo, S. Franco, E. Rubiano, A. Hoyos, 2010.
