Thanks for this information. This will be a useful tool to address issues like
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2008-10/msg00773.html
It will be really useful if it could 'easily' check several
installations such as in computer labs. (I know, get a feature, and
you ask for more...) I can see a new Stata command that checks your
installation from within Stata.
