Dear statalisters,

I wonder whether you could give me any advice on the following:

I am working with firm level (panel) data and I am interested in firm
size; I have three categories of firm size:
small if employees <=100
medium  if employees >100&<=1000
large  if employees >1000

Focusing on small firm at time t, what I would like to do is create a
dummy variable =1 if firm which was small at time t is medium or large
at time  t+5.

I found something about firm size on the FAQ
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2009-05/msg00222.html
but it is not really the way I would like to proceed.

Any ideas/suggestion?

Best

CInzia
