I just updated v10.1 from 18 Aug 2009 to 1 Oct 2009 (executable and ado)
and the pareademo.do now runs and draws patterned rectangles. This is
on a Dell PC running Windows XP, but I doubt that is relevant as the
error messages were Stata generated.
The 1 Oct update also cured the bug with addplot on sunflower. I can't
see another change that might have affected parea and not inclined to
downdate to confirm the bug comes back!
