Dear Laura,

Stata 11 shows you a little animation in the status line near to caps
lock indicator when it is doing something. The animation stops when
your code stops. The only problem is that it continues when there is a
-more- condition and Stata expects your input (which is a bug from my
point of view) but in a sense - it is still executing a command, so
it's fine.

Also you may display the current iteration number, or better yet
percent-complete in the window title (if you have iterations):
window manage maintitle `"`=`i'/`maxi*100''%"'

Best regards, Sergiy Radyakin
