Phil,

There are a couple of people out there who use STATA for network
analysis. For starters, Bill Simpson has written a STATA routine for
the quadratic assignment procedure (QAP) for network regression and
correlation (see: http://econpapers.repec.org/paper/bocasug01/1.2.htm
- for details).

There are others at the University of Southern California
(Christopher Weare, Tom Valente) who use STATA for social network
analysis. Preferably, you can join the social network analysis list
Socnet (through www.insna.org) for further info. There is some
interest in this area -- attached to this email is a message fragment
posted recently on Socnet.

rgds, Emmanuel

We have a book proposal at STATA now proposing publication of our
STATA routines. My colleague Kayo Fujimoto has become quite
proficient at this.
We can help you off-line.
