If a command does not support -by:- or -by()-, then some tactics for repeated output are detailed at
FAQ . . . . . . . . . . Making foreach go through all values of a variable
8/05 Is there a way to tell Stata to try all values of a
particular variable in a foreach statement without
                specifying them?

i have been going through the various commands available to compute measures of inequality (including inequal, fastgini, ineqdeco, atkinson etc). I would like to calculate inequality by date for a range of dates, but these inequality commands do not seem to allow a 'by' option. Is there a way of setting this command to repeat by date, other than manually running it repeatedly and changing the date in the command (i.e. something equivalent to
.bys date: inequal income or
.bys date: ineqdeco income
which are not allowed)?
