My first advice is: try firstly to use a licensed copy of the Stata
software. Are you using a legal copy?

Hello!

I am currently facing a strange problem:

                "Insheet using C:\example.txt, names clear"

Results in the variables
A1
B2
B3

Saving the dataset via "save c:\example.dta, replace" saves the document,
however one variable drops out and vanishes. There is no error message ,
the variable just vaporizes. Curiously, its not always the same
variable..sometimes it's A1, sometimes A2..

Has anyone before encountered a similar problem? (I am running Stata 10 IC)

(http://skrammer.blogspot.com/2007/11/new-stata-10.html describes similar
problems, unfortunately there is no solution, neither).

Best regards

Christian
