Dear all,

many thanks for the quick response.
Indeed, the recoding of some variables reduces the memory quiet a bit. Where
I had some idea how to do it, the loop-function worked also fine. So,
merging was not necessary. However, to increase the memory was not feasible.

PS. After full data manipulation, the dataset is just about 40mb in size...
