Thanks, Martyn, but what is linked there are the help file & the UCLA FAQ description on how to use -xi3- , with a suggestion to use - findit- to obtain the ado file.

I will write to the authors and ask where -xi3- is.

Marten mentioned the -xi3- command for creating extended
interaction terms.  "findit xi3" did not find the command for me.
Neither did "search xi3, all."   However it is there on SSC and
"ssc describe xi3" and "ssc install xi3" work.

In the past I've used the -desmat- command by John Hendrickx to
create extended interaction effects.
