Agree it is annoying, but I find that it beeps only on my home machine,
running same XP system.

For some reason Stata now beeps when I hit the Page Up button to recall
my last command. Has this always been true or did something change with
the latest version? I'm running Stata 9.2, currently up-to-date, on
Windows XP Pro SP2.
