st: word count discrepancy

Hello - It appears that the word count local function is giving a value
one too high. For example


. local ttt "aaa bbb ccc"

. local nt: word count of `ttt'

. di `nt'
4

I have Stata 9.2 Intercooled for Windows - born 8/28/2006

Have I overlooked something?
