Try the following to add the directory permanently to your adopath...

1) Open the file c:\ado\personal\profile.do (If it doesn't exist, create it)

2) Add the following line to the file

adopath + c:/ado/personal/genset

3) Save the file

4) Restart Stata

You will now have c:\ado\personal\genset in your adopath.  It will be
the last directory searched by Stata for the command you are typing.
