Just my two cents to (a) add my endorsement to this video--it really helped me understand all the new stuff with windowing, and therefore get what I like; and (b) renew my observation that I'd really like a "minimize" button on the viewer window, so I can set it to float, but then can get it out of the way without closing it.

That is a good video! I can see how you can lose windows and have trouble finding them again if you don't understand what is going on. I don't have any great desire to move my windows around like it shows, but I can see where the pinning option could have a lot of appeal. You don't need to see the review and variables windows all the time, and when you do want to see them it would be nice to have them be pretty wide so you can see complete commands you typed and/or the variable labels. Now that I understand them better, I'll give Stata a thumbs up on these changes, at least until my windows start disappearing on me and I can't get them back.
