Are you using Stata 9 or Stata 8 ? I have problems with -gllamm- by adding the "from" and/or "eval" functions with Stata 9 but not with Stata 8 (but not the same error message than yours). [see my messages dated of the June 17, 2005]

I'm sure others must have encountered this problem, but I'm having
problems feeding starting values to -gllamm-
I don't want to force-feed using -copy- option.

global specs "i(person) ip(fn) nrf(3) eqs(W1 W2 W3) weight(wt) l(logit)
f(binom) nocons "

gllamm test , $specs peqs(f1) nip(2) constr(1 2) matrix b=e(b) gllamm test , $specs peqs(f1) nip(2) constr(1 2) from(b) trace Yes, I am intentionally feeding the starting values back to the same
model.
I get this error
initial vector: extra parameter z2_1_1:Wave1 found

When I check the trace, it looks like the starting values should work.

Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
Michael
