Dear list,

I encountered some strange difference between stata 9 and stata 8.2:

When I use a factor analysis, pcf:

-- factor grata-gratn gratr if s_func!=4, pcf

And then do a rotation:

-- rotate, varimax
If you type -help version-, you will see that there are a number of little changes in -factor- and related commands. Whether they can account for what you are seeing, I don't know. You might try something like

version 8.2
factor...
rotate...

and see if Stata 9 gives you the same results that Stata 8.2 did.
