I don't detect any marked change in behaviour. 

In any case this is usually regarded as a major feature. 

But it is easy enough to play dangerously by using 
your own way of leaving. 

A simple program along the lines of 

program bye
	version 8 
	exit, clear
end 

gets you out pronto.
