 as a very casual  developer who has staryed into strata mailings i am enjoyings the emails about models.
  I have always wondered about what about the basic assumtions in modelling and always come back convinced that just as SPSS is for social scientists stata is for those who
want a little more shopisticated cover up. To hell with the basic assumtions , get a fat pile of numbers , colour the graphs and get your Phd.
