st: downloading from ssc

It is often the case that the SSC version of an item is later, and 
contains fixes, that the STB or SJ version does not. Every SSC item 
contains a Distribution-Date which is its date of last modification on 
the archive.

Please do NOT download materials via a web browser from the URL 
given--ESPECIALLY if you are using Windows. There is very little chance 
that the .hlp file will survive on that OS, and a good chance that the 
.ado files will not be properly transferred. Please use the SSC command 
(e.g. ssc install gam, replace) to handle this task reliably.
