Are you sure that the -version 8.0 not supported- error is coming from a 
call to -predict-? I ask, because -predict- checks its caller's version.

I was curious about this, because of Stata's good version support. When I 
tried setting my version to 8.0, running ivreg2, and then using predict, 
I got no error. 
Does the error happen under a specific set of circumstances?
