Dear All,

I used command

        tab prime, gen(flood)

this command created 10 separate variables (flood1.....flood10)

I reclubbed them selectively taking only 6 variables

         egen newvar=group(flood1 flood2 flood3 flood4 flood5 flood6), label

The problem is that newvar becomes representative of 7 variables.
Could anyone explain me how come this seventh variable is getting
clubbed/recoded under newvar.

Thank you for your time and attention. Your help will be highly appreicated.

With regards

Malay
