Thanks as always to Kit Baum, a new program, -xls2dta-, is now
available from SSC.

-xls2dta- converts Excel files to Stata datasets using -import excel-.
Names for Stata datasets are derived from the names of the Excel
files. The program is a convenient tool to import and convert more
than one Excel file and/or worksheet at a time.

Stata 12.1 is required. To install, type in Stata

. ssc install xls2dta

Best
Daniel
