Subject: st: poverty decomposition

Dear all:
Does anyone know of a program that would allow
decomposition of poverty measures into a
between-subgroup, within-subgroup and income
component?
Many thanks.
best wishes,
E. Saram.
-----------------------------------

-povdeco- (available from SSC: -ssc install povdeco-) decomposes poverty
indices (three members of the Foster-Greer-Thorbecke class, including
the headcount ratio = proportion poor).

Within- and between-group decompositions do not make sense for poverty
indices. They do make sense for inequality decompositions, in which case
look at -ineqdeco- (-ssc install ineqdeco-)

Use of -findit- would have led you to these programs.
