Personally, I copy c:\ado from one machine to another.  Then my 
packages are in sync on different machines.  You mostly have to be 
careful that profile.do is correct for the machine you are on.  This 
is also handy if, say, you have a machine that does not have Internet 
access but another machine with Stata that does.
