Thanks much, James. This was something that I thought "should" be
possible as it is in other languages, I just didn't have the proper
lever. What you have offered is not intuitive but i can follow the
logic.
I have since answered my other question regarding "put"ing quotes in
the rstring, namely through the use of compound double quoted: put
