st: xttest2 problem

I am trying to test for contemporaneous correlation.

I ran xtreg, fe and then xttest2

I received the following error

xttest2
__000002 not found
r(111);

A prior posting noted that this may not work for unbalanced panels which
I also have.

Any ideas?
