hello statalist,

i have a fairly specific question regarding the correct syntax when using the
expand option with gllamm for trinomial problem, estimation takes a couple of
days:

when i choose m in expand(patt chosen m) option all fixed coefficients are
estimated for each alternative automatically.

how do i also obtain a random parameter for each alternative, say for my dummy
explanatory variable female ?

is it ;
eq femalea2:a2*female
eq femalea3:a3*female
gllamm alt explan variables here, expand(patt chosen m) i(caseidmumnumeric) /*
*/ lin(mlogit) family(binomial) nrf(4) eqs(a2 a3 femalea2 femalea3) nip(4)/*
*/ trace adapt

kind thanks
