Hi to all,

I have some question regarding the use of sort. Would anyone tell me
some potential reasons for getting different results by running

sort id
drop if id==id[_n-1]

Thanks and best,

Look at the help for -sort-. As noted in the help, "Without the stable option, the ordering of observations with equal values of varlist is randomized." So, if you always want the same results, you should use the -stable- option.
