I have survival data on persons with HIV. I wish to -stsplit- that data
using calendar dates that represent different time periods: time prior
to availability of antiretroviral therapy (before 1990), monotherapy
(1990-1993), combined therapy (1993-1995), and HAART (after 1995). I
have date of infection (origin), age of infection (agehiv), commencement
of therapy (rx) and date of AIDS (end). I want to split the data so I
can compare the hazards of AIDS at different calendar periods which
correspond to the therapies available at that time. I'm looking at a
population level and not individual level.
I can't seem to figure out from either the manual or "An Introduction to
Survival Analysis Using Stata" how use calendar dates. Has anyone done
something similar or have suggestions?
