dear statalisters,

i am seeking your advice on how to conduct variance decomposition in a sort
of panel context. In my study, respondent is asked to rate their preferences
(hereafter Y) for a given vignette condition. Eachi respondent is given 40
such vignettes. For a sample of N, I would like to decompose the overall
variance of Y into "across" and "within" variation. I'd appreciate it if you
advise me how it could be done in STATA.

thanks for your advice in advance.
