Yesterday morning at 10:30 I gave this command:

tabi 29 41 44 3 0 \ 20 50 45 5 1 \ 19 44 51 7 0 \ 9 38 56 12 0, exact(9)

The good news is that I never got the above error message. The bad news is that, 20 hours later, I still didn't have an answer either, so I killed the job. Whether this amount of time reflects

(a) remaining inefficiencies in Stata's algorithm
(b) this is a really difficult problem even for a program with a good algorithm
(c) suboptimal settings on my end

I really don't know. I suppose if you are patient you may eventually get an answer. But, if the speed issue can't be addressed (and perhaps even if it can) I personally would go with some of the other options that have been proposed.
