Subject   st: calculating standadrized rates on weighted survey data
Date   Mon, 28 Jun 2004 13:58:58 +1000

I have a unit record file with observations from a survey. Survey weights
have been calculated, to weight the data to a population level. So each
unit record has a weight attached to it. The 'svy' commands are used to
provide estimates for prevalence etc (in this health survey).

The survey was stratified by age, sex and area of state. Is there a way in
Stata to use direct standardisation (on the weighted data) to produce
weighted estimates adjusted by these variables (age, sex and area of
state)?

( I know dstdize works on whole counts, but doesn't seem to work with
weighted data, i.e. taking into account the weight).

Many thanks in anticipation of a solution.
