There is. Tim Liao's (1994: 59-69) monograph illuminates the conditional
logit model for just your kind of data (transportation research).

here are some other useful references specifically for the mixed conditional logit model (i.e. model in which the choice depends on both attributes of the individuals as well as on the choices):

alternatively, you might have a look at some econometric textbooks like Greene (2000), Econometric Analysis.
