Hi Jeffry:
In my STATA:

. which merge

/Applications/Stata/ado/base/m/merge.ado
*! version 2.0.1 02jan2004

merge is implemented as an .ado file

suggest
. net install merge

or better, why don't you run an
. update ado

Since you lack merge, you may lack something else too.

Cheers
Tom

Hi ,
I am using the latest version of Stata ( May 18,2004).
Is merge executed from an .ado file? I do not seem to have merge.ado in the base\m\ folder ( I have merge.dlg and merge.ado). Using the merge dialogue option also returns me the error

unrecognized command: merge

How can I fix this?
Thanks,
Jeffry
