As the author of grnote, I can say that there are no plans to update it for
Stata 8.  I think that the new v.8 graphics already can do most of what
grnote did and may be more flexible than you think (I'm not sure through).
Any new extensions would need to be written in the generally undocumented
and apparently complicated new graphics language/class approach which I
haven't even tried to peer inside of yet.
