Hello,

I am working with a 250m dataset on Stata 7 SE. I just found out that 1 of
approx 17000 observations has weird values, e.g. -127 for a dummy
variable, or 1983.7493 for a year. Clearly these values are not coding
mistakes, checked that in more than one way. They also did not appear
in an earlier version of the data. Not all variables for this observation
changed their values.

Does this sound familar to anybody? Is this a virus or were the data
corrupted during the process of saving it? What can I do to prevent
it from happenning?

Thanks for your help

Sandra.
