Dear Statalist,

It would be nice to have an FAQ (if there isn't one) describing the various covariance structures (e.g, tables 41.3-41.5 of <http://www.otago.ac.nz/sas/stat/chap41/sect20.htm#mixedrepeat>) assumed by various Stata commands, explained comprehensively but at a fairly intermediate level, with Stata examples. A nice model is <http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/courses/ed231c/notes2/gee.html>.
