As I was updating my copy of Stata 8 to get the January 30th version, I thought I read the message to type -whatsnew- --presumably to learn the nature of the updates just made. I entered the -update swap- command as directed, but when Stata returned, this is what happened when I entered -whatsnew-.

unrecognized command: whatsnew
r(199);
Is there no whatsnew command anymore, or what is going on?
