Chinh!

I have been having problems using cut-and-paste to copy
Stata graphs to Word or Excel. I am getting help from Tech
Support. However, duplication the problem on your test
machines has been difficult. I am running W98, 800 x 600,
with 128MB ram and a NVIDA video card.

Tonight, I uninstalled Stata8/SE and deleted files left
over from the uninstall of Stata7/SE and Stat8/SE. (I was
surprised to see that there were so many of them.) I then
reinstalled Stata8/SE. With the executable dated 02 Jan
2003, I can cut-and-paste with the best of them to Word,
Excel, PowerPoint. I did cut-and-paste with Stata8 graph
commands, its graph7 commands, and tools such as sparl.

When I updated to the new executable, I cannot. I go to
the DOS command line, rename the old and new files, and
am leaning hard towards the conclusion that the latest
executable introduced a problem for my machine.
