Dear All

Thanks to Kit Baum, there is now a new version of the -listtex- package downloadable from SSC. Type -ssc desc listtex- inside Web-aware Stata to find out more.

-listtex- outputs a variable list as the rows of a plain TeX, LaTeX, HTML or word processor compatible text table, or any other text table where the rows have a prefix string and/or a suffix string and/or a column separator string. (It is the user's responsibility to provide the table header and/or footer and/or preamble, but I find that I often need to tweak these in my text editor or word processor anyway, in order to get them just right.) The new version has a -type- option, allowing the user to type the table rows to the Stata log or Results window to be cut and pasted, instead of (or as well as) outputting the table rows to a disk file as in the old version. (This saves the user the trouble of cluttering up the disk with unnecessary files and/or typing -tempfile- and -type- commands.)

Best wishes

Roger
