I reported last week that graphing was slow in Stata 8 se with a large file.

graph age pain 313,132 obs  versus scatter age pain

Stata 7: 1.07 seconds
Stata 8: 46.6 seconds

Stata has just posted a new executable. With it the Stata 8 graph time is

Stata 8: 10.8 seconds!
