Thanks to Kit Baum, two updated packages to -ellip- are now available on SSC: -ellip6- and -ellip7-. ellip is a program for graphing confidence ellipses and was published in STB-46 for Stata 5 in 1998.

ellip6 is version 1.2 of ellip and requires Stata 6. ellip6 replaces version 1.1 for Stata 6, which was published on SSC in 2001 as ellip. ellip7 is version 1.3 of ellip and requires Stata 7. The pool() option requires gphdt.ado and gphsave.ado, which are part of the packages.

Additions to ellip6:
1. Three new and more flexible boundary constants: prediction hotelling, sample adjusted chi-square, and adjusted f.
2. New replace and error-variance-ratio options
3. Improved formatting options

Further additions to ellip7:
1. New/Fixed by() graph option
2. New nograph option
3. New boundary constant: squared standard deviation

For more info on SSC, type

. help ssc

For example, to read the help for ellip7,

. ssc type ellip7.hlp

To install all files for ellip7,

. ssc install ellip7

I will continue to develop the program in Stata 8 but not in older Stata versions, because of the major changes and improvements in Stata 8. Best wishes,

Anders Alexandersson
