I work with mac OS 9.2 and Stata 7.
I want to learn how to perform a manual update of Stata.
I downloaded the appropriate files from www.stata.com.
After UnStuffing the files,
a file Stata is on the desktop and
a folder newado is on the desktop.
The file Stata on the desktop is used to update the Stata executable.
The manual update for Stata executable was successfull.
I can not update the Ado-file. I get the message:
Do nothing; all files up-to-date.
The problem is that my
Ado-files are not up-to-date (15 Dec 2000).
If I perform an automatic update from www.stata.com,
I get the message:
currently installed: 15 Dec 2000
latest available: 09 Aug 2002
Recommendation
update ado-files
Manual update tells me: Do nothing; all files up-to-date.
Automatic update tells me: Recommendation update ado-files.
What is wrong?
