I am trying to do a Fisher exact test on a 7 x 5 contingency table with
134 observations. The manual says that this test can take a long time,
but it has been about 5 days now so I am thinking that something has
gone wrong. The stata screen shows nothing wrong, no error messages,
just waiting for it to finish executing the command.

Is there some way to check that stata is still working on it without
interupting the job?

Is there some rule of thumb about how long it should take, given the size
of the table and the number of observations?

I am running stata 7 on a 400 Mhz Celeron with Windows 95.
