Vertically integrated firms may be at risk of becoming specialists and
they may also be at risk of exiting the industry. I am interested in
learning if exiting vertical integration (upstream of dowwnstream)
hastens the exit from the industry (both upstream and downstream).
Does this question lend itself to competing risk models? Any guidance
is appreciated.
