I have two equations for the calculation of AIC:


AIC = 2k + n[ln(2*pi*RSS/n) +1]

AIC = 2k + n[ln(RSS/n)]

Which of these, if any, can be used to compare models that have 
different values of n (as well as different values of k) ?

If neither can be used for models with different values of n, can you 
suggest the correct equation.
