The following is of interest to Stata for Mac users.

64-bit Stata 10 for Mac now available
-------------------------------------

You can download, install, and use 64-bit Stata today. This includes
   Stata/IC, Stata/SE, and Stata/MP.

The 64-bit version is available for free to existing Stata 10 for Mac users.

64-bit Stata for Mac runs 10 to 15 percent faster than the 32-bit version,
and 64-bit Stata breaks the 2GB memory barrier. You are limited only by
the total amount of memory on your machine.

64-bit Stata requires an Intel-based Mac with a 64-bit processor and
Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard). To determine if your Mac has a compatible 64-bit
processor, select "About this Mac" from the Apple menu. If the Processor
line contains Intel Xeon or Intel Core 2 Duo, your Mac is compatible with
64-bit Stata. Early Intel-based Macs with Core Duo processors have 32-bit
processors and are not compatible. 64-bit Stata is not available for
   PowerPC-based Macs.

To upgrade to 64-bit Stata, go to

      http://www.stata.com/support/updates/stata10/mac64/

and follow the instructions. You do not need new license. Your existing
Stata 10 for Mac license *WILL WORK* with 64-bit Stata for Mac.
